Fraudulent Check Inquiry

From time to time, the university receives calls inquiring about a specific check’s status. In the past, these calls have been received by various departments and personnel. In general, all calls should be directed to University Payables to determine if the check in question is valid.

If the check is valid, University Payables will provide information needed to satisfy the inquiry.

In the event the check is not valid, University Payables will advise the caller and request a copy of the check for our records. In addition, University Payables will provide the caller with contact information for the caller to pursue further action through agencies that investigate fraud.
